From Saint Michel de Maurienne station to Refuge de Terre Rouge

Turn right as you leave Saint Michel de Maurienne station 711m. Turn right at the traffic lights, go over the bridge and through the tunnel, then left into rue Ste Marguerite towards the Belvédère. At the end of this street, the path sets off towards the hamlet of Les Combes. At Les Combes, follow the road, pass the hamlet of Les Mélèzes and continue to Valmeinier Village (1500 resort) 2h30; cross the village, on the square go behind the climbing wall and join the "old road". Cross the hamlet of La Combaz then continue to the Chenalette car park 1785m. 1h30. From there, two waymarked routes are possible: via La Loza and Notre Dame des Neiges (left at the place called l'Ordières) or via Mathoset (right at the place called l'Ordières), following the Neuvache along its right bank. 2h
