From the refuge (2,502m), head down to Col de Vallée Etroite. At the pass, take the right-hand path and climb across to Lac du Peyron (2,440 m). Skirt the lake and take a path that leads around the rocky outcrop overlooking the lake to the left. You then reach Col des Méandes (2720 m) where you can join the "classic Italian route". The track to the south crosses the rocky bar on the edge of the small cirque where the pass leads. Then follow the path (the cross) towards the summit, which is now in your reach. The summit (3,178 m) is just behind the chapel.
